Who We Are
WE are a typical Filipino family of seven who left the Philippines in 1987. We lived in Vancouver for 10 years, plus another four in the Canadian Rockies; then finally another four in a small rural town in Connecticut.
IN 2004 we decided to return home and care for our aging parents. Gerry has returned to farming and working on environmental (climate change) projects. (See his site biofuelswork.com) I now teach at Miriam, a small women's college as I continue to write and publish.

This site is for all Pinoys who
can be found from Antartica to Zaire,
for their children, many of whom may not remember their roots or their heritage, as they immerse themselves in cultures different from their own.

We first thought
of writing
something like
this when we
were homesick for
the Philippines.
Or when we realized
our kids had never heard of
Melchora Aquino
or Tawi-Tawi.
So we'd very much
like to hear
from our kababayan
wherever you may be.
Tell us your stories--both funny
and sad.Tell us what it's like
to be Pinoy.
